Heather is the Chief Operating Officer and a Partner at Financial Symmetry, where she brings nearly two decades of care, clarity, and curiosity to her work. From daily operations to long-term strategy, she leads with a steady hand and a deep belief in the power of people-first processes.
She joined Financial Symmetry in 2006 as a college intern, drawn to the firm’s collaborative spirit and long-view approach to client service. Over the years, she’s grown with the company—serving as Operations Specialist, Office Manager, and Operations Manager before becoming COO and Partner. Her journey reflects what she now champions for others: that the right environment, paired with encouragement and opportunity, can grow both careers and confidence.
Heather’s leadership is rooted in refining how things work—not just for efficiency’s sake, but to support the people doing the work. Her focus is always the same: building thoughtful, scalable processes that evolve with the firm’s growth while staying rooted in trust, collaboration, and a genuine care for people.
She is an active member of the High Impact Financial Operations Network (HIFON), where she participates in several mentoring communities that foster operational leadership across the financial services profession.
Outside the office, Heather makes her home in Durham with her husband, Alex, and their adventure-loving pups, Benji and Penny. She’s an avid music fan, happiest at a live show or planning her next concert road trip. Heather is a dedicated Carolina Hurricanes hockey supporter.
