This year, we’re proud to celebrate 20 years of dedication, leadership, and impact from Allison Berger—a trusted advisor, mentor, and advocate whose work has helped define the spirit and purpose of Financial Symmetry.
From her early days as an intern to becoming our third advisor and a partner at the firm, Allison’s influence reaches far beyond her client work. She has guided individuals and families through some of life’s most meaningful transitions and mentored the next generation of advisors along the way.
A Career Centered on Clients and Connection
Allison began her career at Financial Symmetry shortly after graduating from North Carolina State University, bringing with her a passion for personal finance and a natural ability to connect with others. Today, she is known not only for her technical expertise but also for her remarkable ability to listen deeply, celebrate milestones, and understand the human side of financial decision-making.
Her clients often include:
- Those preparing for or transitioning into retirement
- Families seeking to leave an intentional legacy for loved ones or charitable causes
- High-net-worth investors with $2 million or more in investable assets
She’s especially passionate about supporting women in finance and working with multi-generational families, helping them align their financial decisions with their values and long-term goals.
Specialized Expertise for Life’s Transitions
In addition to holding the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation, Allison earned the Certified Financial Transitionist® (CeFT®) credential in 2022—an advanced designation focused on the emotional and psychological complexities of financial change.
Whether her clients are navigating retirement, divorce, loss, inheritance, or the sale of a business, Allison offers not only strategic guidance but also emotional insight, helping people move through change with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
A Leader in Education and Mentorship

Her commitment to financial education extends outside the firm as well. She’s volunteered with organizations such as NAPFA, SavvyLadies, Building Homes for Heroes, and served as a WIN Advocate for the CFP® Board, championing women’s voices in the financial planning profession.

Rooted in Family, Faith, and Fun
Outside of work, Allison finds joy in the everyday rhythms of family life. She and her husband, Jason, are raising two sons—Ryan and Sebastian—and if you’re looking for her on the weekend, there’s a good chance she’s on a soccer field or cheering from the sidelines.
A lifelong soccer player herself, she continues to play in adult leagues and embrace her full role as a “Soccer Mom.” Allison also enjoys traveling, staying active, and is known for a few beloved quirks:
- A proud Disney enthusiast, making frequent trips each year with her family
- Can quote a Seinfeld episode for almost any occasion
- Long-time fan of New Kids on the Block
- Former Chick-Fil-A employee (first job!)
